EDUKASI PERAN ORANG TUA DALAM MEMBANGUN KARAKTER ANAK USIA DINI DI PAUD MEKARSARI
Abstract
Character education has become a crucial issue in Indonesia’s education system, especially at the early childhood level, as this stage serves as the foundation for moral and personality development. However, many parents are still unaware of their strategic role in instilling character values within the family environment. Based on this condition, this community service activity was carried out at PAUD Mekarsari, Kranji Village, Banyumas Regency, with the aim of increasing parents’ knowledge and awareness of their role in developing children’s character from an early age. The activity was implemented through an interactive socialization method, which included presentations, group discussions, and a reflective session where parents wrote their personal commitments. The results showed an increase in parents’ understanding of character education concepts, their ability to communicate positively with children, and the formation of practical commitments to implement daily habits such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, and empathy. In addition, the activity strengthened collaboration between parents and teachers in supporting character education at PAUD Mekarsari. Therefore, this community service contributes to enhancing the capacity of families as strategic partners of educational institutions in building a generation with integrity and strong moral character.
