Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain (1) The transfer of the Watu Lawang folklore into the plot of the Watu Lawang drama script. (2) Transferring the Watu Lawang folklore into the Watu Lawang drama script in the background. (3) Transferring the Watu Lawang folklore into the Watu Lawang drama script for characterization. (4) The relevance of transferring the Watu Lawang folklore into the Watu Lawang drama script as drama teaching materials at SMA Negeri 2 Purbalingga. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with content analysis. The data sources in this research are folklore documents and drama scripts from Watu Lawang, informants from 2 class XI Indonesian language teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Purbalingga. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques use integrated document analysis and interviews. The data validity test technique uses theoretical triangulation and method triangulation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The research results are as follows. One, as a result of converting the Watu Lawang folklore vehicle into the Watu Lawang drama script, there are many additions to the plot in the drama script.
