Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to the Public Policy and Management Inquiry (PPMI) journal will undergo two stages of review: an initial review and a substantive review. The initial review is conducted by the editor to ensure the manuscript's compliance with the writing guidelines, focus, and scope. In the next stage, the manuscript will be evaluated through a blind peer review process, in which the identities of both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

Review Process
Manuscripts that have passed the initial review process will then be forwarded to the reviewers. The entire review process will take approximately 4 to 8 weeks.

Reviewer's Decision
The reviewer will provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accepted: The manuscript is suitable for publication.
  • Accepted with minor revisions: The manuscript can be published after minor revisions based on the reviewer’s feedback.
  • Accepted with major revisions: Substantive issues in the manuscript, such as data analysis, the main theoretical framework, or paragraph restructuring, must be revised. The manuscript will only be accepted if the author makes the necessary corrections.
  • Rejected: The manuscript is not suitable for publication.

Revision Process
Manuscripts accepted with minor or major revisions will be returned to the author. For manuscripts accepted with minor revisions, the author is given one week to make the necessary changes. Meanwhile, for manuscripts accepted with major revisions, the author is given two weeks to complete the revisions.

Final Decision

At this stage, the editors will re-examine the manuscript to ensure that the author has made the necessary revisions based on the reviewers' feedback. In this final decision, the manuscript may still be rejected if the author fails to make the required revisions correctly.

Editing
Manuscripts deemed acceptable by the editors will undergo an editing stage to ensure linguistic quality.

Publication Confirmation
At this stage, the manuscript will be sent back to the author for verification of its accuracy. The author has the right to correct any typographical errors found in the final version. Once confirmation is received from the author, the editor will proceed with the publication process.
