Post Publication Discussion
About Post Publication Discussion
Prawara provides a space for post-publication discussion, where readers, researchers, teachers, and practitioners may respond to articles that have already been published in the journal. Discussion after publication is an important part of scholarly communication. It allows the academic community to test, question, extend, and enrich published research on Indonesian language and literature education.
Post-publication discussion does not replace peer review, and it does not change the published record of an article. Comments are published as contributions to an ongoing scholarly conversation, and they are not editorial endorsements of the article or of the views expressed.
Who May Participate
Discussion is open to anyone with a scholarly, professional, or educational interest in the article concerned, including:
- researchers and lecturers;
- students and postgraduate candidates;
- teachers and education practitioners; and
- writers, editors, and other members of the language and literary community.
Participants are asked to use their real names and to state their affiliation where applicable. Anonymous comments may be declined.
What Kind of Contributions Are Welcome
We welcome contributions that:
- engage critically and constructively with the content of a specific article;
- raise methodological, theoretical, or empirical questions;
- offer additional evidence, perspectives, or relevant literature;
- report replication attempts, or application of the findings in classroom or community settings; and
- point out errors of fact, citation, or interpretation that the authors may wish to address.
Authors of the article are invited to respond. Their responses are published alongside the original comment, subject to the same guidelines.
Guidelines for Participants
To keep the discussion constructive, all contributions must:
- remain focused on the article and its scholarly content;
- be respectful in tone, even when expressing strong disagreement;
- be written in Indonesian or English;
- be concise, normally not exceeding 800 words;
- cite sources in accordance with a recognised citation style; and
- be the original work of the person submitting it.
The following will not be published:
- personal attacks, insults, harassment, or discriminatory language;
- allegations of misconduct that have not been substantiated, or that are better reported through the journal's correction or retraction procedures;
- advertising, promotional material, or solicitation of any kind;
- content that infringes copyright, privacy, or confidentiality;
- comments that are unrelated to the article under discussion; and
- content generated by AI tools without disclosure, in accordance with the journal's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy.
Concerns About Research Integrity
Serious concerns regarding research integrity, such as fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or undisclosed duplicate publication, should not be raised as public comments. Such concerns should be sent directly to the editorial office at prawara@unsoed.ac.id, so that they can be assessed under the journal's publication ethics procedures. These may lead to a correction, an expression of concern, or retraction of the article.
Moderation and Publication
All contributions are moderated by the editorial team before publication. The editors:
- may decline, edit for length or clarity, or remove contributions that do not meet these guidelines;
- will normally notify the contributor of the decision;
- will not enter into private correspondence regarding the reasons for decisions on individual contributions; and
- may close discussion on an article after a reasonable period.
Publication of a comment does not imply that the editors agree with its content.
Responsibility of Participants
Contributors are personally responsible for the content of their comments. By submitting a contribution, the contributor confirms that:
- the comment is original and accurate to the best of their knowledge;
- they have no undisclosed conflict of interest in relation to the article, or have disclosed it in the comment; and
- they grant the journal permission to publish the comment under the journal's Creative Commons licence.
Relationship to Other Journal Procedures
Post-publication discussion is distinct from the following procedures:
- Peer review of new submissions, which is conducted by the editorial board and reviewers before publication;
- Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions, which are issued by the editors where an article contains a material error or breach of publication ethics; and
- Letters to the editor, which may be used for general correspondence about the journal.
