KARAKTERISTIK OPINI MAHASISWA: STUDI KASUS PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS DI PERGURUAN TINGGI

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik opini mahasiswa dalam konteks pembelajaran menulis di perguruan tinggi. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menyusun struktur teks opini yang terdiri atas pernyataan pendapat (tesis), argumentasi, dan penegasan ulang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus terhadap mahasiswa semester dua yang mengikuti mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia di salah satu universitas negeri di Purwokerto. Data diperoleh melalui dokumen tulisan opini mahasiswa, rencana pembelajaran, serta hasil observasi kelas, kemudian dianalisis dengan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa telah mampu menyusun opini dengan runtut, ditandai dengan kejelasan pernyataan pendapat serta penguatan argumentasi melalui alasan logis dan contoh aktual. Namun, masih ditemukan kelemahan, terutama pada aspek penegasan ulang yang sering kali tidak muncul secara eksplisit, serta pada aspek kebahasaan seperti diksi, ejaan, dan koherensi antarkalimat. Kesimpulannya, mahasiswa memiliki potensi yang baik dalam menulis opini, tetapi keterampilan tersebut masih perlu ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran yang sistematis, dengan menekankan penguatan argumentasi, perumusan simpulan yang persuasif, serta penggunaan bahasa yang sesuai kaidah.
