Peningkatan Efektifitas Pembelajaran Vocabulary, Grammar, dan Writing (Language Component and Skills) Melalui Tekhnik Mind Mapping di SMP Negeri 2 Sumbang

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Teknik Mind Mapping pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris khususnya tentang peningkatan vocabulary, grammar, dan writing. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimental dengan 3 kelas eksperimen dan 3 kelas control yang samplenya dipilih dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Selain itu juga menggunakan Teknik wawancara dengan sampel dua staf pengajar mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris .Data analisis SPSS yang meliputi data pre test dan post test menunjukkan bahwa : 1)Nilai rata-rata vocabulary dari Statistik Deskriptif adalah 36.85 (pre test experiment) menjadi 46.32 (Post test experiment); 2) Nilai rata-rata Grammar dari Statistik Deskriptif adalah 28.68 (pre test experiment) menjadi 51.91 (post test experiment), 3) Nilai rata-rata writing adalah 29.06 (pre test experiment) menjadi 43.47 ( post test experiment), 4) hasil uji paired sample t test .000 lebih kecil dari .05 (vocabulary), .000 < .05 (grammar), .000< .05 (writing), 5) hasil uji independent t test .000<.05 (vocabulary), .000<.05 (grammar), .000<.05 (writing). Data di atas menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Teknik mind mapping dalam pembelajaran vocabulary, grammar, dan writing terbukti berpengaruh positif dan efektif dalam peningkatan penguasaan vocabulary, grammar, dan writing bagi siswa SMPN 2 Sumbang kelas VIII. Dari hasil wawancara dengan pengajar Bahasa Inggris juga menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami permasalahan dalam vocabulary, grammar, dan writing dan menurut para staf pengajar Bahasa Inggris tersebut, Teknik mind mapping adalah solusi bagi permasalahan tersebut.
