EDUKASI PENCEGAHAN STROKE DAN FAKTOR RISIKONYA BAGI ANGGOTA PERKUMPULAN INSAN PURNAKARYAWAN PENDIDIKAN DAN KEBUDAYAAN (IPPK) KELOMPOK TENGAH BARAT KECAMATAN SOKARAJA
Abstrak
Perkumpulan Insan Purnakaryawan Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (IPPK) is an association consisting of teachers or employees within the Education and Culture Service who have retired in every sub-district, including Sokaraja Sub-district. The average age of the members of this association is over 60 years and is included in the elderly group. Elderly is the final stage in the human life span. The physical condition of older individuals is different from that of adults. The elderly group is very at risk of experiencing health problems such as stroke and its risk factors. WHO reports that around 70% of stroke cases occur in low and middle income countries such as Indonesia and 87% of stroke cases cause death and disability. In preventing stroke patients, identification of risk factors is very important. Stroke prevention in patients is carried out by optimizing control of risk factors, especially modifiable risk factors such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Based on this, a program was carried out to provide solutions to health problems that occur in the elderly group, especially those related to stroke prevention for members of the IPPK West Central Group, Sokaraja District. The aim of this activity is to provide education on stroke prevention and its risk factors for members of the Association of IPPK in the West Central Group, Sokaraja District. The average pretest score obtained by activity participants was 65.1 and the average posttest score obtained was 76.3. Based on these results, it is known that there is an increase in the posttest score compared to the pretest score. Through this community service activity, members of the IPPK West Central Group, Sokaraja District, received benefits in the form of additional knowledge about stroke prevention and its risk factors.
