“REVENGE TOURISM” PASCA-PANDEMI COVID-19: PERAN MEDIA SOSIAL DAN DAMPAKNYA TERHADAP OVERTOURISM DI KABUPATEN BANYUMAS

Abstract

Di era pasca-pandemi COVID-19, industri pariwisata telah menyaksikan fenomena unik yang dikenal sebagai “Revenge Tourism,” dimana wisatawan dengan antusias melanjutkan perjalanan mereka setelah periode pembatasan perjalanan. Penelitian ini, yang mengkaji Kabupaten Banyumas sebagai fokusnya, menginvestigasi peran yang signifikan dari media sosial dalam mempengaruhi fenomena overtourism serta memberlakukannya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif, kami mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pemangku kepentingan pariwisata dan pengguna aktif media sosial. Hasil penelitian kami mengindikasikan bahwa media sosial mempunyai peranan yang signifikan dalam membentuk persepsi dan pengambilan keputusan wisatawan dalam mengunjungi destinasi di Kabupaten Banyumas. Namun dampak dari promosi yang gencar ini adalah menumpuknya wisatawan secara berlebihan di destinasi tertentu sehingga mengancam kelestarian lingkungan dan kualitas pengalaman wisata. Dalam konteks ini, kajian ini menyoroti pentingnya pendekatan pariwisata berkelanjutan dalam menahan tantangan overtourism dan menjamin kelangsungan destinasi wisata jangka panjang di Kabupaten Banyumas.
