Program Edukasi Kepatuhan Terapi pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 di Fasilitas Kesehatan Tingkat Pertama (FKTP) Klinik Tanjung Purwokerto

Abstrak

The results of research conducted by the service team reported that therapeutic adherence in DM patients at a First Level Health Facilities Tanjung Clinic, Purwokerto was mostly in the low category and there was a significant correlation between therapy adherence and HbA1c levels. HbA1c levels play an important role in the management of DM patients because it is a standard marker of whether or not glycemia management is adequate and is associated with DM complications. The problems in Tanjung Clinic's need to find a solution because the right diagnosis, selection and correct drug administration are not enough to guarantee the success of a therapy if it is not followed by patient compliance in carrying out the treatment. The solution implemented by the service team in overcoming this problem is to provide comprehensive education on therapeutic adherence to patients, not only focusing on the medical or clinical aspects of the patient, but also regarding the patient's psychosocial aspect. Before being given the material, a pretest was carried out and it was known that the average pretest score was 66,1. The average posttest score of participants after being given the material was 71,1. Based on these results, it was known that there was an increase in the posttest value compared to the pretest value. Through this activity type 2 DM patients at the Tanjung Clinic get additional knowledge about the importance of therapeutic adherence in DM treatment and can practice it to support the success of therapy and prevent further DM complications.
