Educational Program for Prevention and Early Detection of Risk Faktors for Chronic Kidney Disease in the Elderly in Grendeng, Banyumas Regency
Abstrak
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is still a health problem for the elderly in the world, including Indonesia. Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are the most common causes of CKD in Indonesia. The aim of this community service was to provide prevention education and carried out early detection of risk factors for chronic kidney disease in the elderly. Educational activities and early detection of CKD risk factors were carried out using lecture methods and checking blood pressure and blood glucose levels. There was an increase in knowledge after the giving education and it was discovered that 34% of participants experienced hypertension and 11% experienced hyperglycemia from 102 participants. Overall, this community service has succeeded in increasing knowledge and detecting the main risk factors for CKD.
