Abstrak

Periodontitis is an infectious disease of the supporting tissues of the teeth caused by microorganisms, and the progressive destruction of the periodontal tissues occurs. Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteria dominate periodontitis. These bacteria can stimulate pro-inflammatory cytokines, one of which is TNF- which is part of the pathogenesis of infection through the mechanism of phagocytic cells that will play a role in periodontitis disease. Periodontitis treatment can be done by scaling root planning and giving herbal medicines, one of which is lime. This plant is useful as anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and antibacterial. Lime contains saponin and flavonoid compounds, namely hesperidin, tangerine, naringin, ericocitrin, eriocitroid.Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of flavonoids to the synthesis of TNF- in chronic periodontitis, which was analyzed by bioinformatics through three websites, namely PubChem, stitch, and string.Method: The method used in this study is the in silico method.Results and conclusions: The content of flavonoids in lime peel has been shown to have a relationship with the synthesis of TNF-α, namely rutin. Rutin belongs to the flavonol group, which is located at position 3 on the C . ring. The aromatic group in ring B is the group that is responsible for the activity of flavonols because the conjugated double bonds at numbers 2′ and 3′ can transfer electrons from ring B to free radicals and break free radicals.
