Hubungan Kecanduan Game Online Dengan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Kelas VII Di MTs Negeri 1 Jakarta Selatan
Abstract
Background. Online games are one of the games that are very popular and have become a special attraction for various ages, especially for adolescent, because of the sophistication of online games which offer interesting and newest features so that it makes teenagers continue to play online games and ultimately adolescent will become addicted to online games. The impact of playing online games is that it makes someone addicted to online games and can disrupt their activities, one of which is the learning process, namely learning motivation.
Methods. The research design uses quantitative methods with a cross sectional approach. The sample for this research consisted of 141 respondents using a stratified random sampling technique. The instruments in this study used questionnaires from the Game Addiction Scale for Adolescent (GASA) and the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The data analysis used was chi square.
Results. The results of the chi square statistical test show a significant relationship between online game addiction and the learning motivation of class VII students at MTs Negeri 1 South Jakarta, with p-value = 0.001 < 0.05.
Conclusion. So this research can be used to educate about online game addiction with student learning motivation.
