Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in supporting national economic growth. However, increasing market competition poses significant challenges to their operational sustainability. This study aims to examine the influence of Inventory Management (IM) and Total Quality Management (TQM) on the operational performance of MSMEs in Banyumas Regency, Central Java. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 MSME respondents. The validity and reliability of the research instruments were tested using IBM SPSS 20, and multiple regression analysis was employed to analyze the relationships among variables. The results indicate that both TQM and inventory management have a positive and significant effect on operational performance. Among the two, TQM demonstrated a stronger influence, suggesting its dominant role in improving process efficiency, product quality, and organizational competitiveness. This study highlights the strategic integration of quality and inventory systems as an adaptive approach for enhancing MSME performance amidst dynamic business challenges. The findings offer practical recommendations for MSMEs to implement structured quality programs and inventory controls as part of a sustainable performance improvement strategy.
