Abstract


      Kale (Brasssica oleracea var acephala DC) is a vegetable plant that contains lots of vitamins C and Fe. The growth of kale plants is greatly influenced by the availability of nutrients in the planting medium. This research aimed to determine the effect of the interaction of liquid organic fertilizer and humic acid, as well as determined the most effective concentration of liquid organic fertilizer and humic acid, on growth, vitamin C and Fe content of kale (Brasssica oleracea var acephala DC). This study used a two-factor completely randomized design. The first factor was liquid organic fertilizer (P) which consisted of four concentrations, namely 0 mL/L, 20 mL/L, 40 mL/L, 60 mL/L. The second factor was humic acid (H) with two concentrations, namely 0 g/kg, 4 g/kg. There were eight treatment combinations with three repetitions. The research data obtained was analyzed using statistical tests. The results showed that the interaction of POC and humic acid affected the growth parameters of leaf wet weight, whole plant wet weight, and leaf dry weight. Providing concentrations of POC and humic acid that could increase kale growth was 20 mL/L POC and 4g/kg humic acid (P2H2), but it was less effective in increasing the vitamin C and Fe content of kale (Brassica oleracea var acephala DC).
