Abstrak

Brachytherapy treatment methods in the field of medical physics can be done by placing a
radioactive source close to the diseased tissue in the organ. The purpose of this study was to determine
how to determine the absorbed dose of brain cancer brachytherapy and to determine the effect of
variations in the number of seeds with the absorbed dose received. Several radioactive sources can be
carried out in the brachytherapy method, one of which is I-125 radionuclide which has a low energy of
35.5 keV and a half-life of 59.4 days. In this study, a simulation of brachytherapy with MCNPX software
was carried out. The simulation results show that the energy absorbed dose is 183.81 Gy for 10 seeds,
377.53 Gy for 20 seeds, 569.918 Gy for 30 seeds, 765.82 for 40 seeds, and 972.76 for 50 seeds.
