Policy of Screening for Plagiarism

The Soedirman Economics Education Journal (SEEJ) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and is committed to ensuring the originality of all published works. As part of this commitment, SEEJ employs rigorous plagiarism screening procedures to maintain the quality and credibility of our publications.

Plagiarism Screening Process

  1. Initial Submission Check: All manuscripts submitted to SEEJ are subjected to an initial screening using advanced plagiarism detection software. This process identifies any similarities or overlaps with existing published works.

  2. Editorial Review: The editorial team carefully reviews the results from the plagiarism detection software. If potential plagiarism is identified, the manuscript is further evaluated to determine the extent and nature of the overlap.

  3. Author Notification and Response: In cases where significant plagiarism is detected, authors will be notified and given an opportunity to address the concerns. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts to ensure originality and proper citation of sources.

  4. Rejection and Resubmission: Manuscripts found to contain unacceptable levels of plagiarism will be rejected. Authors are encouraged to resubmit their work only after making substantial revisions to eliminate any instances of plagiarism.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying Text: Directly copying text from another source without proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing: Rewording ideas from another source without proper attribution.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing significant portions of one’s previously published work without appropriate citation.

Commitment to Ethical Standards

SEEJ is committed to upholding the ethical standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We expect all authors to adhere to these standards by ensuring their work is original, properly cited, and free from any form of plagiarism.

Support and Guidance

SEEJ provides support and guidance to authors to help them understand and adhere to ethical writing practices. Authors are encouraged to seek assistance from the editorial team if they have questions or need clarification on plagiarism-related issues.
