Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study, which describes linguistic data regarding violation of the cooperative principle along with implicature in the speech of the main character in a web series entitled My Lecturer My Husband episodes 1, 4, and 8.
The data collection method used in this study is the referential method. the basic technique used is tapping technique. Then, the advanced technique used univolved conversation observation technique and taking notes technique. The data analysis method used in this study is the identity method with the type used is the referential identity method. Then, the data that has been analyzed is presented informally.
Based on the results of the study, there are 102 dialogues that violate the cooperative principle with the details are 20 dialoges in episode 1; 37 dialogues in episode 4; and 45 dialogues in episode 8 with 56 maxim of quantities violation; 31 maxim of qualities violation; 11 maxim of relevances violation; and 41 maxim of manners violation. The violations of the cooperative principle that were found as a form of affirmation about something and expression feelings.
