The object of study in this research is the novel Kambing dan Hujan by Mahfud Ikhwan. This novel was chosen because it raised a sensitive topic about the difference in social organization affiliation between Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah in the 1960s. This study aims to describe the characters, plot, and setting and examine the religious aspects of the novel Kambing dan Hujan using literary anthropological studies. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and a literary anthropological approach. The results of the study entitled "Religious Aspects in Novel Kambing dan Hujan by Mahfud Ikhwan” is the discovery of 4 components of religion according to Emile Durkheim, namely (1) religious emotions, (2) supernatural belief systems, (3) systems of religious rites or ceremonies, and (4) religious groups. The religious aspect in this novel can be seen from the ideas, storyline, narration, and dialogue conveyed by the characters in this novel, especially Muhammad Fauzan, Iskandar, Miftahul Abrar, Nurul Fauzia, Pakde Anwar, and Cak Ali.
