Formulation and Evaluation of Aloe vera’s Leaf Purification Extract Suppository
A.vera with the content of anthraquinone have activity as laxative. The purpose of this research is to create a suppository dosage form of purified extract of A.vera which meets the physical requirements of suppositories with various base oleum cacao and cera alba and PEG 400 and PEG 6000. This research is an experimental research by formulating the extract of A.vera by added variying base oleum cacao and cera alba and PEG 400 and PEG 6000, used a cast method, the evaluation of the physical properties of suppositories include: organoleptic, uniformity of weight, melting time, melting point and hardness. Organoleptic data and uniformity of weight obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis, while the other test data were analyzed using statistical methods Anava one direction with a level of 95% followed by Least Significant Difference test (LSD). The results showed that suppository which provide the most excellent physical properties is suppository base oleum cacao with the addition 4% of cera alba and suppository with a concentration ratio of base 50% PEG 400 and 50% PEG 6000.
